Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Arlington, TX
About The Position
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Arlington, TX. This role is a great fit for a clinician who enjoys variety, autonomy, and making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Our full-time providers typically work three 12-hour shifts per week, with schedules released in advance and no after-hours work. You will treat patients of all ages, manage a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries, and perform common urgent care procedures while being supported by experienced clinical teams, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Texas NP or PA license
- NP: FNP certification through ANCC or AANP required
- PA: NCCPA certification required
- Active DEA license or ability to obtain
- Ability to treat patients of all ages
- Active BLS certification
- EHR proficiency
- Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
- DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered per policy
Nice To Haves
- Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
- Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, wound care, and injury management
- Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
- Comfort working independently in a fast-paced clinic environment
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
- Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
- Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and other procedures as applicable
- Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Code and bill services appropriately
- Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
- Practice in alignment with NextCare’s clinical standards and values
