About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Aurora, CO. This role is ideal for a clinician who values variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-to-moderate acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Colorado license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • NP: ANCC or AANP certification; Family Nurse Practitioner certification required
  • PA: NCCPA certification
  • Active DEA license, or ability to obtain
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Active BLS certification
  • EHR proficiency
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered

Nice To Haves

  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
  • Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage
  • Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
  • Comfortable working independently in a solo-provider urgent care model

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs, x-rays, and EKGs
  • Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage, as applicable
  • Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
  • Code and bill services appropriately
  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
