About The Position

Main Line Health is hiring an Inpatient Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the ICU at Paoli Hospital. This part-time Advanced Practice Provider joins a growing critical care team and works with advanced technology, experienced physicians, and multidisciplinary teams, with support from accessible leadership. The position focuses on patient care in the ICU and is described as working under the supervision of an attending physician. The posting also describes extending the attending physician’s services through patient assessment, diagnostic testing, treatment, and bedside procedures. The role offers opportunities to pursue certifications or advanced degrees and to participate in grand rounds, CME conferences, and in-services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or CRNP program.
• Certified PA-C or CRNP, or a new graduate eligible for certification.
• Active license with the Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
• Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification.
• Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience as a Physician Assistant or CRNP in an ICU setting is preferred.
• Additional certifications specific to the specialty may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the management of patients under the supervision of an attending physician.
• Act as a liaison for the supervising physician.
• Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Order and interpret imaging, laboratory, and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and therapies.
• Perform and assist with common bedside or office procedures.
• Assist in the operating room.
• Participate in grand rounds, CME conferences, and in-services.
