About The Position

Logistics Health Incorporated (LHI), part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide quality virtual medical care services remotely. This role involves conducting virtual patient triage, assessments, and referrals, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to complete virtual health assessments in non-traditional settings. The provider must ensure safe patient care and adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures, meeting qualifications for their specialty and performing functions similar to government service professionals. The position requires excellent customer service, professionalism, organizational skills, and compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA. Responsibilities include analyzing patient information, maintaining records, conducting virtual assessments, managing new and ongoing medical problems, providing virtual support in emergent situations, and staying updated on contract requirements. The role is entirely remote, customer-facing, and requires working independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program or Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Valid and unrestricted professional PA or NP license in the state which you reside.
  • Ability to apply for 10+ additional assigned state licensures within 2 weeks of hire date.
  • Collaborative physician agreement if applicable based on state scope of practice regulations.
  • 1+ years as a PA or NP in a clinical environment including oversight of ancillary and clinical staff and caring for adults.
  • Experience conducting assessments on wide variety of acute/chronic conditions.
  • Proven experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) platforms to document, review, and manage patient information.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work one or more of the listed schedule requirements including one weekend rotation per month.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, in addition to patience and a high-level of customer service to all patients and fellow staff.
  • Skilled in emergency response.

Nice To Haves

  • Multiple licensures preferably in one or more of the following states with ability to obtain multiple state licenses per regional assignment: KS, OR, AR, AK, IA, ME, KY, CT, NH, WV, DE, MT, ID, SD, NM, RI, ND, VT, WY, WY, NE.
  • 2+ years clinical experience in a health care delivery system.
  • VA and/or military experience.
  • Experience working in a Virtual setting.
  • Experience working in a call center environment, handling a high volume of calls and performing repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Proven leadership experience including the ability to supervise, coach and develop staff using excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with government forms and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinically competent medical care services within their scope of practice.
  • Provide safe patient care and ensure adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures.
  • Collaborate with other providers and team members to complete Virtual health assessments in non-traditional healthcare settings.
  • Perform virtual patient triage, assessments, and referrals.
  • Analyze and interpret histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information.
  • Maintain complete and detailed records of patients’ plans of care, documenting care within an appropriate time frame.
  • Conduct virtual medical assessment.
  • Ensure appropriate follow-ups for all referrals.
  • Ensure patient assessments are being carried out as per site guidelines.
  • Manage new medical problems and appropriate follow-up on any ongoing medical problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.
  • Apply proper patient identification practice and HIPPA compliance.
  • Provide virtual support in emergent situations to patients who have medical needs while waiting for emergency response team.
  • Remain up to date on all contract requirements.
  • Responsible for assessment of patient’s emergent needs in a nontraditional setting.
  • Attune assessment and critical thinking skills to ensure appropriate care can be delivered safely and within the scope of capabilities of the available resources.
  • Act professionally with minimal supervision as a representative of Optum Serve.
  • Possess solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, solve moderately complex problems while working both independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Maintain compliance with Optum Serve and Federal, State, and Local regulatory, contractual, and organizational guidelines including HIPAA as outlined in training and policies/procedures, quality assurance and improvement processes.
  • Organize workload, set priorities, complete assignments in a timely manner and utilize resources appropriately while complying with organizational standards.
  • Dedicated to building rapport with team members, internal and external customers, and management team by demonstrating a solid customer service orientation and a continuous positive image of Optum Serve.
  • Be punctual for work attendance and abide by work schedule.
  • Practice within mandated scope of licensure/certification.
  • Provide excellent patient care within the scope of PA or NP credentialed privileges.
