About The Position

This role is for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedics (Total Joints) at Paoli Hospital. The position can be in either an Inpatient or Outpatient setting, working alongside an attending physician to provide excellent patient care. The APP will act as a patient advocate, write orders for testing and therapy, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include educating patients and families on discharge instructions and medications, addressing concerns, and ensuring smooth transitions of care. All documentation will be completed in EPIC. This APP will be based at Paoli Hospital, with travel to Main Line Health Concordville and Downingtown (in 2027) required.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience (total joint specific experience preferred) as physician assistant or Board eligible graduate preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Bachelor of Science degree or more in a physical science required.
  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program.
  • Certified or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure's certification required.
  • Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
  • Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
  • RNFA required for Nurse Practitioner.
  • Must wear a respirator as part of the job requirement.

  • ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent patient care in an Inpatient or Outpatient setting alongside the attending physician.
  • Act as a strong patient advocate within the medical system.
  • Write orders for testing and therapy.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide education to the patient and family on discharge instructions and medications.
  • Address patient and family concerns.
  • Ensure the patient is transitioned to the appropriate level of care.
  • Complete documentation in EPIC.
  • Travel to Main Line Health Concordville and Downingtown (in 2027) as part of the role.
