About The Position

Western Maryland Physician Services is hiring a Casual Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to help support the Neonatology department. This role involves coverage for Level 2 nursery and well-baby nursery. UPMC Western Maryland is a leading hospital in Cumberland, MD. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current state RN license and NP certification are required.
  • Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): National certification, eligible for licensure by Maryland board of nursing, eligible for certification as a NP by Maryland state board of nursing.
  • Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current CPR certification is required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Current CPR certification is required.
  • Masters degree in Nurse Practitioner Program (Maryland Approved) required.
  • The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required.
  • Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
  • State of Maryland National board certification, eligible for licensure by Maryland board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Maryland state board of nursing.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN, MSN is preferred
  • Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred
  • BS or MS candidate is preferred
  • Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred
