Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work with our Maternal Fetal Medicine team. The MFM APP will work collaboratively in the ambulatory setting with physicians, nurses and staff in a team approach to enhance high-risk OB patient care. The APP will work both in the MFM clinic and antepartum testing with responsibilities as listed below: * Interpretation, documentation, and billing of antenatal testing procedures * Assessment and subsequent management and coordination of care with abnormal antenatal testing findings * Provide clinical management for diabetic glucose monitoring and medication/nutritional adjustments in collaboration with multidisciplinary team * Provide clinical management for hypertensive monitoring and medication in collaboration with multidisciplinary team * Collaboration with physicians on management plans and follow-up for patients * Care coordination with OBGYN and other specialties as needed * Patient tracking for highest-risk/complex patients * MFM does not do deliveries Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm No call, weekends, or holidays Essential Functions: Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems. Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population. Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise. Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise. Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care. Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
