About The Position

The APP is a licensed medical provider who functions as part of a physician-led health care team that is multidimensional. The APP manages the patients along with the attending physician. S/he will autonomously order diagnostic and therapeutic measures that make sure the patient-care is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered. The NP/PA will continually monitor and adjust the care of the patient. A major role of the APP is to be the patient advocate in the medical system. The APP will act as a liaison between the patient and all providers on the team. The APP will coordinate the care of the patient when multiple physicians and providers are involved in the care of the patient. The APP may provide other patient care through the execution of standing orders/protocols and/or routine patient care tasks which are delineated in the written agreement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Surgical Assistant Program, or Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Certified or new graduate eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants).
  • Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years Nurse Practitioner experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years' experience as physician assistant preferred.
  • Inpatient ortho experience highly desired, OR experience preferred.
  • May require PALS.
