About The Position

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides outpatient care under the supervision of physicians, consistent with GHC-SCW policies and state regulations for PAs. The PA functions as an independent healthcare provider skilled in history taking, physical examination, treatment, and clinical care management. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides patient education, assessment, and treatment, working collaboratively with physicians. Both roles operate under the general direction of the Clinic Medical Director, with accountabilities to collaborating physicians, the Senior Medical Director, and the Chief Medical Officer. The incumbent must adhere to all GHC-SCW policies, strive for high-quality work, complete assignments in a timely manner, and represent the organization positively. They must understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Common Values.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in an accredited Physician Assistant program (for PA).
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing with specialty preparation as a Nurse Practitioner (for NP).
Physician Assistant Certification by the State of Wisconsin (for PA).
Valid State of Wisconsin license to practice as a Registered Nurse and as a Nurse Practitioner (for NP).
Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate (must obtain within four months of employment).
Knowledge of scientific practice principles, methods, and techniques for quality decision-making.
Ability to adapt standard practices for specific cases.
Ability to recognize and identify medical symptoms and problems.
Ability to read and interpret various medical reports and/or results.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and listening skills.
Excellent assessment skills.
Ability to problem-solve and prioritize changing patient conditions.
Knowledge of interviewing practices and techniques.

Nice To Haves

Current (or ability to attain) membership in professional Physician Assistant organization(s) (for PA).
Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber certification (desirable but not required for NP).
Primary care practice experience.
