UPMC Children's Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support our Pediatric Genetics and Genomic Medicine group. This is a predominantly outpatient role within Pediatric Genetics and Genomic Medicine. The APP will work collaboratively with geneticists, genetic counselors, nurses, and support staff to provide comprehensive care for patients with genetic and genomic conditions. Responsibilities may include patient evaluations both pediatric and adult, follow-up visits, genetic test coordination, result review and disclosure, patient education, and care coordination. Hours: Monday-Friday, Primarily Daylight hours, 40 hours/week Location: UPMC Children's Hospital- 4401 Penn Avenue, 15224 Pittsburgh PA - Occasional travel to outreach clinic locations may be required. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.
