About The Position

UPMC is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join their Critical Care Medicine team in the Neurovascular ICU. This position will support the Neurovascular ICU at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, and UPMC Montefiore Hospital. The role involves the management of critically ill patients, primarily night ICU coverage, and CCM APP coverage for Neurovascular ICUs. Procedures include intubation, central lines, and arterial lines. The APP will participate in ICU rounds with the team during day and night coverage and RRT, with management by the APP. Previous ICU experience is preferred, and CCM APP Fellowship training is available.

Requirements

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current CPR certification is required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 33 Clearance will be required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 73 Clearance will be required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 34 Clearance required.
Physician Assistant (PA): A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Current CPR certification is required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Act 33 Clearance will be required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Act 73 Clearance will be required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Act 34 Clearance required.
Senior Level: Minimum 3 years of experience or Completion of a post-graduate residency.
Senior Level: The successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or a graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) program is required.
Senior Level: Completion of National Certification.
Senior Level: Must achieve a Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on annual performance evaluation for consideration and to maintain status annually.
Senior Level: Completion of an OAPP approved professional contribution within one year of hire or promotion into the position.
Senior Level: Must have department chair approval for promotion.
Senior Level: ACLS or ITLS or NALS or PALS or ACLS or other certifications listed must meet AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
OAPP: If practicing in an outpatient or other non-inpatient setting, APPs can use one of the certifications above or use a business unit approved certification which is relevant, and value added to the practice setting.

Nice To Haves

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): BSN, MSN is preferred.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred.
Physician Assistant (PA): BS or MS candidate is preferred.
Physician Assistant (PA): Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
Senior Level: BSN, MSN preferred for CRNP, BS or MS preferred for PA.
Previous ICU experience is preferred.
CCM APP Fellowship training available.
