About The Position

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Nights Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support Critical Care Medicine. This role involves the management of critically ill patients, primarily providing night ICU coverage. The APP will manage patients across various ICUs, performing procedures such as intubation, central lines, and arterial lines. They will participate in ICU rounds with the team during both day and night shifts, and manage Rapid Response Teams (RRT). UPMC Critical Care Medicine is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for critically ill patients across a broad spectrum of medical and surgical specialties, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, clinical innovation, and a commitment to advancing critical care through research, education, and quality improvement.

Requirements

Management of critically ill patients
Primarily night ICU coverage
CCM APP coverage for various ICUs
Procedures including intubation, central lines, arterial lines
ICU round with team during the day and night coverage and RRT, management by APP
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Current CPR certification is required.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP): Act 34 Clearance required.
Physician Assistant (PA): A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Current CPR certification is required.
Physician Assistant (PA): Act 34 Clearance required.

This position is dependent upon successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, if applicable to the Business Unit practice.

Nice To Haves

BSN, MSN is preferred
Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred
A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required
BS or MS candidate is preferred
Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred
