About The Position

Inspire Health Medical Group (IHMG), affiliated with UCSF Fresno, has a full-time opportunity for a physician assistant (PA) to join our team in the observation unit of our emergency department (ED) at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Fresno, California. These observation units have 24 hours of emergency physician coverage and 10 hours of PA coverage. The observation unit is fast-paced and works closely with the emergency department, consultants, and observation unit nursing/support staff. PAs are responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with urgent medical needs after initial evaluation is completed in the ED. Duties include completing focused history and physical exams on patients, ordering medications, ordering and interpreting labs, EKGs, and other diagnostic studies, as well as coordinating patient care with other specialties. Types of cases include cardiac, neurological, surgical, medical, orthopedic, post-procedural, and more. There is 24/7 on-site supervising physician oversight. A full panel of specialists is available. CRMC is the only Level 1 Trauma Center/Burn Center serving multiple counties in Central California and is a teaching institution with residency programs in all of the major medical specialties. While there is much to see and do in Fresno, the city is ideally located for fast, convenient getaways to the majestic Sierra, including renowned Yosemite National Park, as well as the scenic Central Coast.

Requirements

  • California Physician Assistant license or eligible to obtain prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or critical care medicine
  • ED/Urgent Care, critical care, or inpatient medicine experience preferred or completion of an Emergency Medicine PA residency/fellowship.
  • New graduates will be considered.
