About The Position

Dr. Jeremy Youse, fellowship trained Mohs surgeon, is looking for a rockstar physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join his team in Urbana, IL. Working alongside Dr. Youse, you will have an opportunity to provide general dermatology services in a high performing family of dermatology practices with a growing patient base. This position offers a 4-day work week, with hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. The salary range is $100,000-$200,000, based on experience.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from accredited nursing program (for NP)
  • Certification nationally recognized nurse practitioner program (for NP)
  • NP licensure in the state employed (for NP)
  • Master’s degree from accredited PA program (for PA)
  • Certification from Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (for PA)
  • PA licensure in the state employed (for PA)
  • Must have prescriptive authorization
  • Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required by the work
  • Communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community
  • Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Be positive, open, and flexible to learning new skills for various procedures
  • Maintain license through ongoing Continuing Medical Education credits as required

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside physician to diagnose diseases of the skin.
  • Perform a variety of general dermatology procedures under physician supervision such as: Skin examinations, diagnosing and treating common skin conditions
  • Define suitable course of treatment for diagnosed patients
  • Perform appropriate biopsies as needed to detect skin conditions and skin cancer
  • Counsel patients on treatment options and long-term care of their skin, including therapies such as Mohs surgery, superficial radiation therapy (SRT), photodynamic therapy (PDT), and narrowband UVB phototherapy.
  • Prescribe suitable and appropriate medications to patients as necessary
  • Recommend diagnostic testing or refer patients to other specialists as needed
  • Utilize Modernizing Medicine, electronic medical record system
  • Communicate changes in patient conditions to physician
  • Establish and interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency and graduated autonomy within scope of practice over the course of several months.
