About The Position

Dr. Jeremy Youse, fellowship trained Mohs surgeon, is looking for a rockstar physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join his team in Urbana, IL. Working alongside Dr. Youse, you will have an opportunity to provide general dermatology services in a high performing family of dermatology practices with a growing patient base. This position offers a 4-day work week, with hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. The salary range is $100,000-$200,000, based on experience.

Requirements

Master’s degree from accredited nursing program (for NP)
Certification nationally recognized nurse practitioner program (for NP)
NP licensure in the state employed (for NP)
Master’s degree from accredited PA program (for PA)
Certification from Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (for PA)
PA licensure in the state employed (for PA)
Must have prescriptive authorization
Must be proficient with medical instruments and equipment required by the work
Communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community
Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA
Be positive, open, and flexible to learning new skills for various procedures
Maintain license through ongoing Continuing Medical Education credits as required

Responsibilities

Work alongside physician to diagnose diseases of the skin.
Perform a variety of general dermatology procedures under physician supervision such as: Skin examinations, diagnosing and treating common skin conditions
Define suitable course of treatment for diagnosed patients
Perform appropriate biopsies as needed to detect skin conditions and skin cancer
Counsel patients on treatment options and long-term care of their skin, including therapies such as Mohs surgery, superficial radiation therapy (SRT), photodynamic therapy (PDT), and narrowband UVB phototherapy.
Prescribe suitable and appropriate medications to patients as necessary
Recommend diagnostic testing or refer patients to other specialists as needed
Utilize Modernizing Medicine, electronic medical record system
Communicate changes in patient conditions to physician
Establish and interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency and graduated autonomy within scope of practice over the course of several months.
