Stanford Neurosurgery provides comprehensive and compassionate care for patients and is at the forefront of scientific research. This position involves joining a team-oriented group of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) caring for Neurosurgery patients in both the floor and ICU settings. The Inpatient Neurosurgery NP/PA will work on a primary service with a rotating schedule of three 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The NP/PA can expect to work predominantly weekday shifts and manage approximately 8-10 patients per shift. Common diagnoses include CNS tumors, movement disorders, intracranial hemorrhages, and spine pathology. This role offers involvement in various aspects of Neurosurgical care, including initial diagnosis, treatment, and preoperative and postoperative care. Opportunities for learning are abundant, including teaching on rounds, weekly conferences, monthly staff meetings, and clinical care conferences.
