Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Fellowship
About The Position
WellNow Urgent Care’s Urgent Care Fellowship is a minimum nine-month continuing specialty rotation designed to provide enhanced clinical experience in urgent care medicine. Fellows receive one-on-one preceptorship with Urgent Care Clinical Faculty, hands-on patient-care experience, and ongoing lectures guided by a didactic curriculum. The program aims to provide comprehensive cognitive and clinical education and develop competent, proficient, and professional urgent care providers prepared to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Fellows work with urgent care teams under the mentorship of experienced nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The position offers a $95,000 annual salary and a $10,000 signing bonus for qualified nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited, approved PA or FNP program.
- Physician Assistants must have active board certification with NCCPA.
- Family Nurse Practitioners must have active board certification with AANP or ANCC.
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state where applying.
- Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, customer relation skills, computer competence, and an active desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease.
- Order evidence-based testing, prescribe medications, and refer patients to outside specialists as required.
- Provide occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and treatment of Workers’ Compensation injuries.
- Perform pre-participation physicals for camps, sports, and employment.
- Maintain patient charts accurately and comprehensively.
- Document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
