About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Medicine to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery. Requirements

  • Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA

Responsibilities

  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, and accurately document clinical findings.
  • Order, perform, and interpret routine diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and EKGs.
  • Monitor patient status, promptly communicate significant clinical changes and diagnostic results to the supervising physician.
  • Perform common bedside procedures, including injections, intravenous line placement, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and other approved clinical interventions.
  • Conduct daily patient rounds, assess clinical progress, and document evaluations and treatment plans in the medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care by consulting and referring to appropriate medical and surgical subspecialists as needed.
