About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Medicine to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. Requirements

Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
Current certification issued by the NCCPA

Responsibilities

Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, and accurately document clinical findings.
Order, perform, and interpret routine diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and EKGs.
Monitor patient status, promptly communicate significant clinical changes and diagnostic results to the supervising physician.
Perform common bedside procedures, including injections, intravenous line placement, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and other approved clinical interventions.
Conduct daily patient rounds, assess clinical progress, and document evaluations and treatment plans in the medical record.
Coordinate patient care by consulting and referring to appropriate medical and surgical subspecialists as needed.
