About The Position
This role involves providing care for orthopedic patients, with a primary focus on post-operative management for total joint replacements. The position offers a blend of hospital and outpatient clinic responsibilities. The Physician Assistant will conduct inpatient rounds, manage post-operative patients, administer medications, communicate surgical updates, address patient concerns, and facilitate discharges. In the clinic, responsibilities include seeing new consultations, assessing fractures, conducting post-operative follow-ups, and performing joint injections. There are no OR duties or call requirements associated with this position. The role utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Requirements
- BLS certification (American Heart Association accepted).
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association accepted).
Responsibilities
- Manage orthopedic patients, focusing on post-operative care related to total joint replacements.
- Conduct inpatient rounds and provide clinic coverage.
- Monitor post-operative patients, manage medications, provide surgical updates, address patient inquiries, and oversee discharges.
- Handle a diverse patient load in the clinic, including new consultations, fracture assessments, post-operative follow-ups, and performing joint injections.
