About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine to join the team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. Lincoln Medical Center is a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center with Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
  • Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current certification/admissibility issued by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries in a fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department environment.
  • Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform focused and detailed physical examinations, develop differential diagnoses, and formulate evidence-based treatment and management plans.
  • Order, interpret, and integrate diagnostic studies, including laboratory results, ECGs, imaging studies, and radiology reports, to guide clinical decision-making.
  • Perform and assist with a wide range of emergency procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, cardioversion, peripheral and central venous access, intraosseous access, lumbar punctures, arthrocentesis, incision and drainage of abscesses, chest tube placement, wound management, and laceration repair.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure timely, high-quality patient care.
  • Document patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record.
