About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health. Opportunity Details: Performing history and physical examinations. Ordering diagnostic tests based on assessments and laboratory procedures, common radiological studies, and EKG tracings. Developing treatment plans, prescribing drugs, and other therapies, as needed. Performing therapeutic procedures, including injections, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and insertion of intravenous lines. Performs advanced therapeutic and diagnostic procedures which may include central venous catheterization, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture and arterial line placement after completing a process to determine competency. Consulting with supervising medical provider, when appropriate. Counseling patients and families regarding care, mental and physical health, and patient education. Works collaboratively with representatives from dietary, nursing, respiratory, social services, and other patient care/support service departments. Precept and evaluate physician assistant students rotating through the Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current certification issued by the NCCPA.
  • ALS and BLS certification.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $134,405 - $178,114 based on 40-hour work week.
  • The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $147,845 and $195,925, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution and other factors as set forth below:
