About The Position
The Physician Assistant provides primary health care and performs selective medical services such as examinations, formulation of treatment plans and therapeutic procedures, in all clinical venues, under the direction of the physicians. The Physician Assistant actively participates as a member of the healthcare team, engages patients, families, and caregivers in coordination of patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
- One year of medical care experience preferably as a Physician Assistant in a medical practice.
- Knowledge of professional medical practice and care protocols.
- Knowledge of physician office procedures, medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of medicine and provides on-going patient care.
- Skill in gathering and analyzing patient data and interpreting findings.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining records utilizing computer software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast paced, stressful, high traffic medical office, exam room and operating room settings.
- Valid State of Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license.
- Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
- Registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for authorization to prescribe controlled substances.
- Board Certified, recertified or eligible by the National Commission or Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Written Agreement(s) with supervising physician(s).
