About The Position

Responsible for providing direct patient care within the practice and under the directive of collaborating Physician. Works in collaboration with the Physician as well as nursing and support services to provide patient-focused care. Serves as a consultant, researcher, and educator. Ensures continuity of care for follow-up treatments. As expected with all healthcare positions, must adhere to HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN regulations and maintain associated workplace trainings. Other duties as necessary under direction of Physician/s and Administration.

Requirements

• MUST HOLD AND MAINTAIN CURRENT/ACTIVE CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSURE AS PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT CREDENTIALED TO WORK IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY

Responsibilities

• Assessment and management of patients
• Day to day implementation and evaluation of the appropriate plan of care
• Performs history & physicals, documentation of findings; communication with collaborating Physician/s
• Orders appropriate diagnostic testing; reviews results/ informs patients & Providers of findings and required follow up
• May include hospital rounds
• Patient education and support
