About The Position

Sanford Health's South University Department of Anesthesia in Fargo, ND is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to join their team. The position is located at South University Hospital and offers a dedicated orthopedic practice with no weekends, holidays, or call. The department consists of 23 anesthesiologists and over 90 CRNAs, with strong relationships within the department and surgical staff. An academic appointment through the UND School of Medicine is available. Fargo is described as a thriving, diverse, family-oriented community with a good quality of life and low cost of living.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated residency/fellowship of at least 3-4 years’ duration in Anesthesia accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in at least 200 Anesthesia cases in the last 24 months.
  • If not applying directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
  • If a quality profile is not available, documentation of the applicant’s hospital-based clinical activity for the past 24 months is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship log if just completed fellowship.
  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada may be considered by the Credentials Committee and the Board of Directors.
