About The Position

This Anesthesiologist position in Duluth, MN, involves providing anesthesia for approximately 2,200 cases per month across a wide range of specialties including General, Trauma, Ortho, OB, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Peds, and Regional cases. The role is part of a well-established group of 22 anesthesiologists, operating within a medically directed care model where they work with CRNAs. The practice locations include St. Mary’s Medical Center, a 344-bed tertiary hospital and Level I Trauma Center with a new facility opened in July 2023; Essentia Health Surgery Center-Miller Hill with 4 OR’s; St. Mary’s Hospital Superior, WI, which has 2 OR’s and 2 Endo Suites primarily for outpatient surgery; and Essentia Health-Duluth, a 165-bed facility with 11 ORs, also primarily handling outpatient cases. The surgical schedule is busy, encompassing all procedures except transplants and pediatric hearts, and includes participation in a Top 100 Interventional Cardiac Program and a Top 100 Health Grades Joint Replacement Program. The facilities are certified as HIMSS EMRAM Level 7 for both Inpatient and Ambulatory services.

Responsibilities
