About The Position

The West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a PRN Anesthesiologist to practice in South Charleston, WV and Charleston, WV. The West Virginia University Health System is the state's largest health system and largest employer, comprising 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. It also includes five institutes and provides management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. WVU Medicine is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022. Today, the WVU Health System has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes 25 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
• Successful candidate must have completed an Anesthesiology residency program.
• Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Anesthesiology.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
