Physician - Acute Care Surgeon, General Surgery
About The Position
The West Virginia University Health System (WVU Health System) is seeking an Acute Care Surgeon to join a well-established and expanding hospital practice at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. This role functions as an extension of the UHC General Surgery practice, responsible for inpatient consults and ED call coverage. Inpatient APP's will assist with rounding and first assist in the OR. The WVU Health System is the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprising 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states, along with five institutes and management services for other local hospitals. Requirements
- Physician licensed in West Virginia.
- Board certified or eligible in General Surgery.
- Board certified or eligible in Surgical Critical Care.
- Ability to obtain WV Board of Medicine and WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine licenses.
- Ability to obtain WVDEA and Federal DEA registrations.
- Ability to obtain WV UHC privileges.
Responsibilities
- Function as an extension of the UHC General Surgery practice.
- Provide inpatient consults.
- Provide ED call coverage.
