Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

Majoring in Kinesiology/Biology/Exercise Science
Prior experience or knowledge as a physical therapy technician

Responsibilities

Assist physical therapists with designated aspects of patient care to ensure safety, successful execution of exercises, and positive outcomes.
Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in learning and improving functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities.
Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under the direction of professional staff.
Demonstrate correct activity form or function.
Observe patients during various physical activities as designed in the treatment plan, compiling progress on patients’ response to treatment.
Effectively communicate patient progress and reactions to treatment to the therapist.
