About The Position

In this role, you'll work alongside licensed Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants, supporting patient care while helping create a positive, safe, and encouraging experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare, physical therapy, athletic training, or a related medical field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, exercise, rehabilitation, or previous healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
  • Set up and apply therapy modalities, including heat/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and other treatments as directed.
  • Monitor patient safety during exercises and communicate patient progress or concerns to the therapist.
  • Greet patients, assist with check-in, and obtain vital signs and pain scores for therapist evaluation.
  • Prepare treatment areas before and after appointments, ensuring equipment is clean, organized, safe, and ready for use.
  • Help guide patients safely and accurately through exercise programs and therapeutic procedures.
  • Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, posture, equipment use, and home exercise instructions as directed.
  • Fit patients with orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices while providing basic usage instructions.
  • Maintain patient safety by assisting with transfers, gait belt use, parking escorts, and other safety procedures.
  • Maintain clinic equipment, treatment tables, and therapy tools by cleaning, organizing, and restocking supplies.
  • Conduct inventory counts of clinical supplies and coordinate restocking with the Clinic Director.
  • Assist therapists with documentation, patient flow sheets, scheduling, and other clerical responsibilities.
  • Support front office operations by answering phones, filing paperwork, and assisting with insurance verification when needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, clinic policies, and infection control standards.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, professional clinic environment and assist with facility upkeep as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Physical Therapist.
