About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a licensed PT/PTA or OT/OTA, the technician will provide limited assistance to therapists with patient activities consistent with the scope of the Missouri Physical Therapy Practice Act. This position is responsible for supporting the mission, vision and values of SERC Physical & Hand Therapy.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of physical therapy equipment and care.
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide limited assistance to therapists with patient activities consistent with the scope of the Missouri Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, and folding; clean tables between patient use; stock carts with towels, pillowcases, etc.; clean exercise equipment daily or more frequently as needed.
• Assist with clinic tidiness, including emptying trash, vacuuming, and straightening the waiting room.
• Answer phones, take referrals, schedule patients, document cancellations/no-shows/reschedules, take co-pays and patient supply orders.
• Locate clinic supplies or items for patient purchase, find charts, locate necessary paperwork, create new charts, operate copiers and fax machines, administer initial evaluation paperwork.
• Assist and prepare patients for treatment with various therapy exercises and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
