Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Regular Cost Center CC005606 CHS - Therapy - Occupational / Physical Clinic - Clements Ferry (Offsite) Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade Health-19 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Job Description The therapy technician assists therapists with tasks that are indirectly related to patient care including: performing administrative and clerical tasks, cleaning equipment, and preparing treatment areas, assisting patients in moving from room to room within the clinic, cleaning and preparing treatment areas and equipment before and after each session, and ordering and arranging linen and supplies for the clinic.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • No prior work experience required
  • Mobility & Posture: Continuous standing, sitting, walking; Infrequent climbing stairs; Continuous working indoors; Infrequent working outdoors (temperature extremes); Frequent working from elevated areas; Frequent working in confined/cramped spaces; Infrequent kneeling; Continuous bending at the waist; Frequent twisting at the waist; Frequent squatting
  • Manual Dexterity & Strength: Frequent pinching operations; Continuous gross motor use (fingers/hands); Continuous firm grasping (fingers/hands); Frequent fine manipulation (fingers/hands); Frequent reaching overhead; Continuous reaching in all directions; Continuous repetitive motion (hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders); Continuous full use of both legs; Frequent balance & coordination (lower extremities)
  • Lifting & Force Requirements: Infrequent lift/carry 50 lbs. unassisted; Infrequent lift/lower 50 lbs. from floor to 36”; Infrequent lift up to 25 lbs. overhead; Frequent exert up to 50 lbs. of force (e.g., Transfer 100 lb. non-ambulatory patient = 50 lbs. force, Push 400 lb. patient in wheelchair on carpet = 20 lbs. force, Push patient stretcher one-handed = 25 lbs. force)
  • Vision & Sensory: Continuous maintain corrected vision 20/40 (one or both eyes); Continuous recognize objects (near/far); Continuous color discrimination; Continuous depth perception; Continuous peripheral vision; Continuous hearing acuity (with correction); Continuous tactile sensory function; Continuous gross motor with fine motor coordination; Continuous olfactory (smell) function; Continuous respirator use qualification
