About The Position

Westchester-Putnam TheraTeam (WPTT) is hiring a licensed Physical Therapist to supervise its Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs). The supervisor ensures that every child treated by a WPTT PTA receives safe, effective care that aligns with the child's plan of care, IFSP, or IEP. WPTT offers speech-language, feeding, occupational, and physical therapy services to children and families in their facility, homes, and community settings throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties. This position combines clinical oversight, mentoring, and quality assurance with a reduced direct patient caseload.

Requirements

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a CAPTE-accredited program (or a master's or bachelor's degree with grandfathered licensure).
• Current New York State PT license and registration in good standing.
• At least 3 years of pediatric PT experience, including Early Intervention and/or preschool (CPSE) services.
• Approval, or eligibility for approval, as an EI and CPSE provider in New York State.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Prior experience supervising or mentoring PTAs, students, or other clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Supervise an assigned group of PTAs in accordance with NYS Education Law, Commissioner's Regulations for physical therapist assistants, and EI/CPSE program rules.
• Maintain a written supervision plan and log for each PTA, detailing frequency, method (in-person, co-treatment, virtual), and topics covered.
• Conduct regular one-on-one supervision meetings and observe PTAs during sessions in homes, preschools, and the clinic.
• Review PTA session notes, progress notes, and data for accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with goals; co-sign as required.
• Act as the primary clinical resource for PTAs regarding gross-motor development, strengthening, balance and coordination, gait training, positioning, and family coaching.
• Identify performance concerns promptly, provide clear feedback, and develop improvement plans with HR and leadership as necessary.
