Develops and provides optimal patient care by planning and implementing a physical therapy program to individuals based upon age-specific and population specific needs utilizing a developmental and patient/family directed approach. Under the general supervision of the assigned Physical Therapist Resident mentor, this role functions as a staff therapist. Patient populations served: pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric for a variety of diagnosis to include but not limited to neurologic, orthopedic, post-surgical, pediatric, medically complex, inpatient or outpatient throughout the hospital system. As a resident, the therapist must also participate in and successfully advance through the residency program with MUSC’s College of Health Professions, Division of Physical Therapy. This position lasts for the duration of the residency program: 1 year, starting in August and ending at the end of July the next calendar year.
