This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position for a Physical Therapist at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center - Acute Care Rehabilitation. The role involves providing physical therapy services in various acute care settings, including the Emergency Department (ED), ED boarders, all acute floors (including ICUs), Orthopedics, day surgery evaluations, and vestibular cases across acute care. The position requires interpreting physician referrals, conducting comprehensive evaluations, establishing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with healthcare teams. Responsibilities also include patient discharge planning, documentation, daily statistics, billing, scheduling, and adhering to insurance guidelines and productivity standards. The role involves performing manual techniques, patient positioning, transferring, and transporting, utilizing various modalities and exercise equipment. Safety and infection control measures are paramount, and participation in performance improvement activities is expected. The therapist will manage their caseload, assist with coverage needs, and pursue professional growth through continuing education. They may also be involved in orienting new staff, participating in coworker evaluations, and supervising physical therapy assistants, extenders, and students.
