About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant administers physical therapy treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist, carrying out established treatment programs. This role participates in departmental activities to promote continuous quality improvement and maintain productivity. The assistant ensures the best possible care, comfort, and safety for patients, prepares and maintains patient records, and supervises patients during treatments. Additionally, the role involves serving customers and colleagues with courtesy and respect, and performing other assigned duties. Non-essential functions include arranging patient schedules and assisting with the maintenance of treatment areas and equipment.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited and approved school of Physical Therapist Assistants.
Maintains current registration as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Kansas.
A minimum training level of BLS is required.
Excellent communication skills; is patient and pleasant, cooperative and courteous, possesses good judgment.
Must be skilled in planning and organization.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
The ability to use office equipment such as telephones and copiers is required.

Responsibilities

Administers physical therapy treatments as outlined and directed by the Physical Therapist.
Carries out treatment programs established by the Physical Therapist.
Participates in departmental activities to promote continuous quality improvement and maintain productivity at budgeted levels.
Ensure the best possible care, comfort, and safety of patients undergoing Physical Therapy treatment.
Prepares, submits, and maintains patient records as appropriate.
Supervises patient undergoing Physical Therapy treatments.
Serves customers, fellow employees and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Arranges and maintains daily schedule of patients.
Assists in the maintenance of patient treatment areas, treatment equipment, etc.
