About The Position

PT/OT Assistant I provides therapy treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning, for a full patient caseload in acute care, acute rehab, skilled facility, outpatient settings as appropriate. Demonstrates appropriate communication, professionalism and supervision of support staff (aides, volunteers) and complies with all hospital and network policies. Participates in education and teaching commensurate with novice clinician. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Assists the rehabilitation staff by performing delegated or routine tasks related to the operation of a physical therapy department, including patient preparation, transportation and departmental maintenance. Aids in the instruction and assistance of patients practicing prescribed exercises and functional activities. Transports and safeguards patients to and from treatment areas. Maintains patient medical records and other paperwork in a physiotherapy department Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant. Arranges treatment supplies to ensure an orderly and sufficient stock. Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • PT: Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • 0-2 years of clinical practice, 1 year preferred
  • PT: Valid state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Must be CPR certified.
