About The Position

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team. This is a part-time, day shift position. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover, and maintain physical mobility and function. You will implement treatment plans, monitor patient responses, communicate progress to the therapist, document services, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning. This role is vital in helping our patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life.

Requirements

Associate’s degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Physical Therapy Assistant in the State
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provide physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
Seek consultation as necessary.
Monitor patient's responses to the treatment plan.
Regularly communicate patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
Document services provided and patient response/progress.
Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Assist with patient discharge planning.
Provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
