About The Position

Under the supervision of licensed staff Physical Therapist, the Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant carries out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients. The Assistant helps the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations, and procedures, and provides treatment, exercise, instruction, and demonstration for patients. Additionally, the Assistant maintains accurate documentation on patient progress, discusses patient status with Physical Therapists, transports patients to and from examination areas, participates in educational programs, and maintains departmental records and reports in an effort to keep management informed of the department's operating status and ensure the provision of quality health care services by the department and hospital. The Assistant demonstrates compassion, understanding, and respect for the physical and psychological needs relevant to the age of the patient served. Responsibilities
