About The Position

Michigan Ear Institute, a rapidly-growing provider of therapy services with a focus on Vestibular Rehabilitation, Balance and Fall Prevention is currently seeking experienced Physical Therapist Assistants to join our growing organization and become part of our progressive team. We are seeking Physical Therapist Assistants who are as passionate as we are about ensuring quality of care and desired outcomes for our patients. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited PTA Program.
  • Current PTA license and eligible to practice in state of Michigan
  • AHA BLS Certification and AED training

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years outpatient experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • To provide quality physical therapy services within the PTA scope of practice under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist in accordance with established standards of practice, department procedures and productivity standards.
  • Assists physical therapists in treatment of patients by implementing an established treatment plan, progressing patient through the therapeutic plan, communicating with internal and external contacts regarding treatment, and documenting treatments and charges, all under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Designs and implements the treatment program in accordance with the treatment plan using exercise, manual therapy, modalities, and instruction that have been reviewed with the attending therapist.
  • Communicates with the intra/interdisciplinary team regarding the treatment and involves the patient, family, and /or significant other in treatment and discharge planning all under the direction of a physical therapist.
  • Daily paperwork. All PT Assistants are responsible for documenting treatment in patient charts and completing all written communications in a timely manner, i.e., progress notes, discharge summaries, daily S.O.A.P. notes, charge slips, and insurance/plan of care forms as necessary.
  • Should be familiar / comfortable using computers and electronic medical records for all documentation.
  • Assists in the maintenance and care of the department and the equipment.
