About The Position

Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient therapy team. As a PTA at MRC, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide hands-on treatment and help patients improve their mobility, strength, function, and independence. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative rehabilitation team while making a meaningful difference in the lives of your patients. Previous experience is not required!

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current, valid Mississippi Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Implement physical therapy treatment programs under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions and treatment techniques based on the patient's individualized plan of care.
  • Assist patients in working toward their physical therapy goals and improving mobility, strength, balance, function, and independence.
  • Adapt and modify treatment approaches as appropriate to meet individual patient needs in consultation with the supervising PT.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress, and treatment units according to department and hospital standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient progress and treatment needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate relevant patient information as needed.
  • Identify challenges during treatment and work with the supervising PT to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and other members of the rehabilitation team.
  • Support departmental activities and perform other duties as assigned.
  • May provide supervision or guidance to PTA students.
