About The Position

FOX Rehabilitation is seeking motivated, licensed Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in Fort Myers, Florida, to provide hands-on care to older adults through their Geriatric House Calls™ model, delivered where patients live. Working closely with a supervising Physical Therapist, you will implement individualized treatment plans, guide patients through exercises and functional activities to rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence. This role is ideal for PTAs who enjoy one-on-one patient interaction, want to see the direct impact of their work, and seek career growth within a supportive, team-based environment. As part of an interdisciplinary care team, you will collaborate with PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Fitness Specialists, with mentorship from your supervising PT and opportunities for professional development.

Requirements

  • Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting 25–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
  • Ability to perform CPR.
  • Ability to provide moderate to maximum assistance with patient transfers and bed mobility, including repositioning a bed-bound patient alone.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and perform extensive walking.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities.
  • Ability to drive to patient homes and senior living communities.
  • Ability to wear PPE when required.
  • New employees hired for this position will need to be cleared through the Florida Background Check Clearinghouse.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized treatment plans established by your supervising Physical Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
  • Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, observing and tracking their progress.
  • Document visits accurately and on time within FOX’s EMR system, in line with FOX’s Clinical Documentation standards.
  • Stay connected with patients, POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
