The Physical Therapy Assistant assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree from a PTA program.
  • Experience: Rehab or acute care experience preferred.
  • License: Current PTA license in state of practice.
  • Certifications: CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy interventions as directed by the supervising PT.
  • Assist in patient mobility and exercise routines.
  • Monitor patient responses and report progress to PT.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for treatment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
