About The Position
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Primary Care Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a valuable member of our healthcare staff, you will play a crucial role in assisting our licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional care to our homebound patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses. PTA role performs visits in homes, ALF's, and ILF's. This is a salary-based position, with the opportunity to receive a monthly bonus. This is a full-time, salary-based position. Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of practice
- CPR certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing rehabilitation
- Physical stamina and dexterity necessary to assist patients with mobility and perform therapeutic activities
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Specialized training or certification in specific areas of physical therapy, such as orthopedics, pelvic heatlh, neurology, or geriatrics
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken by patients in the practice area
- Pelvic Health Experience and/or interest
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the implementation of treatment plans
- Conducting exercises with patients
- Educating patients on proper techniques for rehabilitation exercises
- Documenting patient progress
- Developing individualized treatment plans
- Instruct and assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment, ensuring that equipment is properly sanitized and maintained
- Communicate regularly with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Assist in the implementation of discharge plans, including providing patients with instructions for continued care and recommending appropriate follow-up services
