About The Position

Join an in-house rehabilitation team as a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). Provide person-centered care to residents to help them achieve positive outcomes and improve mobility, strength, and quality of life. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician orders, provide skilled physical therapy services, implement and modify plans of care, monitor treatment responses, and support patients and their families or caregivers. Complete documentation in a timely and thorough manner in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Active and valid Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license.
In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
Current knowledge of physical therapy treatment practices.
Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care experience.
Experience with the Net Health Electronic Documentation System.

Responsibilities

Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing.
Provide skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist.
Implement and modify patients’ physical therapy plans of care under Physical Therapist supervision.
Measure and record patients’ motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
Monitor patient responses to treatment interventions and modify approaches as clinically appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Complete documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulatory requirements.
Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.
