About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant. The Physical Therapy Assistant, under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, Rehabilitation Services Supervisor, Staff Physical Therapist or designee performs designated skilled and routine tasks related to the operation of Physical Therapy services. The Physical Therapy Assistant assists the Physical Therapist with patient related activities as directed and per the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapy Assistant actively works in collaboration with others to provide quality interdisciplinary care. The Physical Therapy Assistant actively participates in operational aspects of the department: assisting with performance improvement activities within the department, participates in CQI activities, assists with monitoring budget guidelines, ensures that patient charges are accurate and completed in a timely basis, and participates in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a School of Physical Therapy Assistants or equivalent which is approved by the American Physical Therapy Association Accreditation Board.
  • Successful completion of State Board Examination of West Virginia.
  • Current state of West Virginia license or Temporary license.
  • Must maintain current licensure requirements once licensed.
  • Current BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current membership in the APTA preferred.
  • Experience preferred but not required.
