About The Position

Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a highly-skilled, compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a Full Time or Casual/Per Diem/PRN position with a flexible schedule. This role offers the opportunity to improve the quality of life for residents at a large rehab and nursing facility. The rehab department utilizes Optima Therapy for billing and documentation to assist therapists with daily efficiency, ensuring quality care remains the primary focus.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university for Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
Experience in an assistant capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
Ability to interpret the policies and procedures of physical therapy.
Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas.
Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing therapy services.
Ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing physical therapy services, programs, and activities as directed by the Facility’s Physical Therapists.
Assist in developing and maintaining physical therapy standards.
Assist in standardizing the methods by which therapy will be accomplished.
Review physical therapy policies, procedures, manuals, and job descriptions at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
Assist in interpreting physical therapy policies and procedures to personnel, residents, and family members as necessary.
Participate and assist in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, and resident assessments as necessary.
Maintain a current file of residents who have been treated.
Maintain treatment records, resident files, and progress notes as required.
Ensure resident records are not lost or mishandled.
Ensure the Business Office receives charges for physical therapy rendered to residents.
Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents.
Interview residents or family members as necessary.
Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting them to the Physical Therapist as required.
