Job Summary The Physical Therapy Aide supports the physical therapy team by assisting with non-clinical tasks and ensuring the efficient operation of therapy services. This role includes preparing treatment areas, transporting patients, maintaining equipment, and providing administrative assistance. The Aide works under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapy staff and contributes to a safe and positive environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Prior Experience that demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
  • Understanding of basic body mechanics and safe patient handling practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Facility-Specified Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Prior Experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains treatment areas and equipment before and after therapy sessions.
  • Assists with patient transport to and from therapy areas as needed.
  • Supports patients with non-clinical needs during treatment sessions under direct supervision.
  • Cleans and organizes therapy equipment and ensures supplies are stocked.
  • Performs basic clerical duties, including data entry, scheduling assistance, and filing.
  • Observes and reports any safety or maintenance concerns to the appropriate staff.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy in interactions with patients, families, and staff.
  • Complies with all hospital safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
