WHO WE ARE: Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, P.C., (ARA), a dynamic and growing medical practice with seven offices in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, is seeking a full-time, highly skilled, energetic, and friendly outpatient physical therapist aides to join our Physical Therapy department. Our clinicians provide special expertise in the treatment of orthopedic conditions, rheumatic and neurological disorders, geriatrics, ergonomic conditions, and neuromuscular syndromes. The incumbent must have a professional demeanor, with a passion for and a strong interest in providing direct, hands-on care to patients. ARA has been treating patients living with musculoskeletal and inflammatory disorders for over 40 years. With offices in Wheaton, Rockville, Chevy Chase, Olney, Frederick, Fairfax, and Washington DC, we pride ourselves on providing excellent medical care and friendly, convenient service. Requirements

  • High School
  • professional demeanor
  • passion for and a strong interest in providing direct, hands-on care to patients
  • basic organizational, clerical, computer skills
  • basic interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, families and staff
  • ability to push/pull, lift, or move equipment and physically assist patients with direction and guidance from the therapy clinician

Responsibilities

  • Performs office maintenance tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, outside physician signature tracking, Medicare usage tracking, mailing, data entry and other duties assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation
  • Prepares patients and equipment for treatment as directed by the physical therapists/physical therapist assistants and in accordance with department standards and the State of Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or the DC Board of Physical Therapy
  • Instructs patients in proper exercise technique, under the supervision of a physical therapist
