One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment.To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Administration of patient treatment plans: Assists in the administration of treatment using accepted Physical or Occupational Therapy procedures under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
  • Educates patient and/or caregiver: Assists the therapist in teaching the patient and/or family in functional activities and treatment techniques of Physical and/or Occupational Therapy as directed.
  • Documents patients status and progress: Assists as assigned with documentation. Uses clear, concise and objective data as directed. Records treatment specifics accurately.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintains the standards of conduct as promulgated by the American Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Associations (as a therapy aide); adheres to the professional code of ethics in the performance of duties. Maintains the treatment areas in a state of readiness for the next treatment (includes organization, cleanliness, and treatment set-up). Demonstrates basic clinical knowledge regarding the treatment techniques with which the aide is assisting in the implementation of.
  • Communicates with members of the medical team: Communicates regularly with other members of the physical and/or occupational therapy team regarding patient status and response to treatment. Works as a collaborative member of the treatment team.
  • Compliance with Policy and Procedures: Complies with safety, infection control, CHW Integrity Program, and other organizational policies. (90 day evals - department specific orientation checklists completed; annual evals - annual competency checklists completed) Complies with the organization's dress code. Arrives at work on time, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy. Attends work consistently, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.
