PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE (PART TIME)
About The Position
Summary: Utilizes proper body mechanics to assist patients in and out of the bed and/or chair. Provides support while walking patients for a designated period of time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Walks with patients based on physician’s orders. Applies body mechanics, transfer techniques, and use of assistive devices as needed to assist a patient walk in the facility for a designated period based on the clinical care plan. Adhere to daily schedule for patient ambulation. Adhere to safety protocols when patient has been identified by medical personnel as a fall risk. Completes any required documentation regarding ambulation for patient’s medical records. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A valid New York State massage therapy license is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
