As a Physical Therapist Aide at Medina Children’s Therapy Services, you will perform various departmental duties and assist with treatment programs. You will work alongside an overseeing Therapist as you provide direct patient care and supportive services. This role is an excellent entry into the Respiratory Therapy field, offering a wealth of development opportunities and hands-on experience with some of the best caregivers in healthcare. This is a full-time role. A caregiver in this position will work 8:00am to 4:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm with no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out departmental duties and treatment programs that are delegated for adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients.
  • Inform the Department Manager or Senior Therapist of any equipment malfunctions or perceived safety hazards.
  • Clean, maintain and stock supplies.
  • Maintain a clean gym area and treatment rooms.
  • Assist with care of patients under the direct supervision and direction of the Physical or Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Inform the therapist of any ill response by the patient and maintain patient confidentiality and modesty at all times.
  • Assist in directing volunteers.
  • Transport patients to and from physical and occupational departments.
  • Ensure safety of self and patient when transporting/transferring patients.
